ANOTHER RECORD BREAKING AUCTION. NEAR 80% SALE RATE

Palm Springs, CA – March 1st, 2013 - With Mid America plus the Pacific North West under a blanket of snow and most of California being hit with severe storms, the small celebrity tourist town just 120 miles inland from Los Angeles was enjoying 70 plus degrees and bright sunshine. Basking in this sunshine was McCormick’s 54th Collector Car Auction at the Spa Resort Casino, just off the famous Palm Cyn Drive.

With over 540 Classic, Sports, Antiques, and Special interest Autos crossing the block. This event now in its 27th year in Palm Springs broke a company record by achieving near 80% sale rate selling at time of this release way over 400 of these autos after taking into account the after block sales still going on. Receipts way exceed 7.4 million dollars.


Turn & Burn, a new TV reality show filmed two episodes at the event selling all four of its entries, with its star Brother JD working the large crowd into great excitement. Look for this show to air on the History Channel from March 2013 onwards. Carol Channing, the beloved American singer, actress, and comedienne charmed the crowd while sitting in her 1970 Buick Electra Convertible crossing the block Saturday afternoon and selling for $19,600 Bradley Coopers ‘HANGOVER’ classic 1965 Mercedes 250SE cabrio used in the movie failed to exceed the reserve of $85,000 coming in with a bid of $58,000. This of course was the car that was not wrecked.


Other notable sales were lot # 427, a 1958 Mercedes 190 SL sold for $58,800, Lot # 429, a stunning 1957 Buick Century Convertible selling for $94,500, Lot 376, a 1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubble Top 409 car selling for $78,750 and also Lot # 170, a 1931 Packard 833 Convertible selling for $115,000 The next event is once again taking place at The Spa Resort Casino in downtown Palm Springs, California on November 22nd, 23rd & 24th 2013.
