    Owner Comments:
In 1965 the Pininfarina design was not only brilliant but timeless. This design was particularly successful for Pininfarina, versions of this design were used with 3 different manufacturers, Fiat, Peugeot and Ferrari. The car is a European market striking red colored 1965 Fiat 1500 Spider two-door Cabriolet serial #118K043937(taken from the cowl serial stamping visible below the hood) with black interior. The original serial data plate, that would also contain the car’s engine number and paint code, is no longer present but its mounting screws remain. This is one of the most classic sports car shapes, the 1500 Cabriolet was designed and bodied by the iconic Italian design house, Pininfarina. For this reason, its design is often compared to many Ferrari’s of the era, most often the Ferrari 250 GT California Spider. The Odometer reading is 80,447 Kilometers that’s only 49,997 Miles. The car is in “good” overall condition and runs great. The paint is an older respray that still presents well but has several blemishes and some minor damage. The body does not show evidence of previous repairs and some cracking and blistering has developed. The interior is in good condition. The original style engine is in good running condition. The Fiat 1500 Cabriolet's running gear includes a four-cylinder, 1500-cc engine that produces 83hp fitted with its two-barrel carburetor and is mated to a five- speed manual transmission. Although small in displacement, this peppy 1500-cc engine provides ample power for this small, light sports car. Both front fenders are in generally fair good condition. There are no dings or dents on either fender. The side maker lights are in aged original condition as the Pininfarina emblems. The inside of both wheel wells is in aged undercoated condition. Some minor rust damage is seen at the bottom rear of driver’s side. The chrome front bumper and over riders are in aged original condition. The running lights are also in aged original condition. The headlights are desirable original Carello amber fog lamps European market 07.485.700 sealed beams that are in good condition. Both doors are in generally good condition. No dings or dents. The rear of the car is in generally good condition. The chrome bumper and over riders are in aged original condition with no dings or dents. The original “Fiat 1500” emblem is present. The trunk lid is in generally good condition with no dings or dents. The rubber liner is aged good condition. It has a brand-new black cloth convertible top. Both the trim piece and convertible top frame are in excellent condition. New hubcaps. The car is equipped with four original steel rims that have been powder coated. This car is fitted with a 1481 c.c. 80H.P. four- cylinder liquid-cool engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The engine serial number is 115.005.413105. This is a correct Fiat 1500 engine and is to be the car’s original. The original Five speed manual transmission is in good working condition. It has The car’s interior is in generally good condition. The driver’s side vinyl bucket set does have a seam split on its top section. The passenger side is in good condition. The carpet is an aftermarket replacement. The door panels are in good condition. The center console is in aged condition. The dash face has its original combination water temperature gauge and fuel gauge, a clock and a European market 180 km/h speedometer. The dash has been cut for a modern radio Mount included and box speakers are mounted to the rear parcel tray. The wood-rimmed three-spoke vintage “E. Nardi” signature steering wheel is in good original condition and makes it is to see the connection to the Ferrari 250GT California Spider. This is a three-owner car. My wife Tara Brown’s father was the 2nd owner who bought it from the original owner on August 7, 1989. The car resides in our garage in San Diego today. This is a rare opportunity to own a one of the most classic Italian sports cars ever produced.
